CESOP

An EU VAT transactional reporting obligation for payment service providers

Welcome to our webinar, where we will discuss the CESOP directive with focus on the roadmap ahead

CESOP (Central Electronic System of Payment information) will enter into force on 1st January 2024 and will impose a reporting obligation for “payment service providers” to report transactional data for certain cross-border payments on a quarterly basis and to keep records of these transactions. The definition of a payment service provider includes banks, electronic money institutions and other regulated payment institutions.

Final local legislation is yet to be published in Sweden and many other EU member states. However, the Netherlands is one of the first countries to publish a draft legislation and guidelines. As such, for this webinar we have invited our Dutch colleagues to talk about the directive and their experience of building a roadmap for payment service providers to become compliant with CESOP and the data architecture challenges linked to this.
