We are pleased to invite you to our webinar to discuss all things CESOP – in the course of the webinar, we will touch upon the CESOP Directive, the status of the legislation in each of the Nordic countries, recent activity being witnessed in the market, and showcase Deloitte’s CESOP reporting platform.
The European Commission has introduced CESOP (Central Electronic System of Payment information) with the objective of fighting VAT fraud.
Once it comes into force on 1 January 2024, CESOP will impose a significant reporting obligation on certain payment service providers regulated by PSD2 to report transactional data for certain cross-border payments processed by them, on a quarterly basis. At first glance, 12 – 13 weeks to prepare for what appears to be just another reporting obligation may seem sufficient; however, what makes CESOP extremely challenging, is the potential impact on source systems, the volume of transaction data to be submitted, and the amount of information to be submitted for each transaction. Additionally, the potential penalties for non-compliance (includes under-reporting as well over-reporting) are very significant in some Member States. Therefore, time is of the essence in getting ready for CESOP.
During the webinar, we will outline the key points covered by the CESOP Directive, highlight the status of the local legislation in each Nordic country, as well as share with you how the market is responding to this new legislation. In addition, we will also demo Deloitte’s CESOP reporting platform, which is holistic yet modular, and allows businesses to file CESOP reports.
